Minecraft Error Code 0x803f8001 in Windows 10 – Fixed

Some users encountered Minecraft Error Code 0x803f8001 while launching the Mahjong Minecraft application on their Windows 10 PC in recent days. This is quite an irritating error that commonly occurs when users try to open the game on the computer.

It comes with an error message that also has been seen with some other game like Asphalt 8. The error message is –

In this post, we have explained how to fix the Minecraft Error Code 0x803f8001 by resetting and reinstalling Minecraft and by using the PowerShell command.

To fix Mahjong Minecraft Error Code 0x803f8001, use the steps –

1. Sign out & Sign in to the Store app

Many users reported that they had successfully resolved this problem by merely signing out of Microsoft Store and then signing back in. The procedure is as follows:

  1.     Open the Microsoft store using the Start menu.
  2.     Click on your profile picture that is available right next to the search box.
  3.     Then click on your account name or the email address, as shown in the image below.
  4.     Click on the Sign out link to sign out of the Store app.
  5.     Once you’re signed out, click the account picture next to the search box and select Sign in.
  6.     Select your current email address and then hit the Continue button.

2. Reset Minecraft

Next, you can reset the app to the default or original configuration on your device. This will remove all the existing data and customizations available there. The procedure is as follows:

  •     Open File Explorer using Windows+E keys and browse the path –

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\minecraft

  •     Now you have to delete the txt folder named Options.
  •     This will reset all of the options to the default settings without losing any other thing.

3. Reinstall Windows 10 Store to Fix Minecraft Error Code 0x803f8001

If the error code is continuing on your computer, then try reinstalling Windows 10 Store. After doing that, the Error Code 0x803f8001 should be gone from your PC.

  •     Open PowerShell as administrator.
  •     Copy & paste the following commands and click the enter –

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

  •     This may take a while to perform the execution.
  •     Once it completes, restart your computer and check for the error code.

4. Turn off Antivirus Protection in Windows Security

If the above methods don’t help you fix Minecraft Error Code 0x803f8001, turn off your antivirus protection and check for the consequence. Here is the procedure –

  •     Press Windows+I keys to open the Settings app.
  •     Then select Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
  •     Under virus & threat protection settings, select the Manage settings link.
  •     Turn Off the Real-time protection and Cloud-delivered protection.
  •     If UAC dialog prompts during this, select Yes.

  •     Now restart your computer, and possibly the error is solved now.

5. Reinstall Minecraft 

Sometimes corrupted or incorrectly saved data also leads to this error code with the message – Minecraft is currently not available in your account. To get rid of this issue, you can remove this application from your computer and reinstall it. Here is the process to do it –

  1.     At first, open the Control Panel and select Programs and Features.
  2.     Go through the list of applications there and search for the Minecraft.
  3.     Once you find, right-click on it & then select the Uninstall button.
  4.     Click on the Yes button if User Account Control prompts on the screen.
  5.     Then follow the on-screen guidelines to uninstall the Minecraft application.
  6.     Now press the Windows+R to open the Run dialog box.
  7.     Type %appdata% and hit Enter to open the AppData folder.
  8.     Please right-click on the Minecraft folder and delete it.
  9.     Close all the running programs & then restart your computer.
  10.     On starts up, go to the Minecraft Oficial Website to download and install Minecraft again.
  11.     Fetch the latest version of the Minecraft installer for the Windows 10 PC.
  12.     Double-click on the downloaded package and then follow the on-screen guidance to install it.
  13.     Once it gets installed, open Minecraft and see if the problem is fixed now.
